ICANN has an exciting new opportunity for an Online Learning Platform Specialist. The Online Learning Platform Specialist performs project duties and carries out responsibilities in the following areas (including, but not limited to): creating a central knowledge space for building a common understanding of how ICANN functions and how interested parties can participate. This role will help scale internal ICANN engagement through building functional and thematic focused learning tracks that will provide for a better understanding of specific ICANN functions and operations. Additionally, this role will build/manage the content of the online learning platform, establish content norms, manage functional and thematic tracks, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Select a vendor for building an online learning platform.
  • Interface with community members to admit them into the online learning program.
  • Update online content on a regular basis based on need and growth of the program
  • Work closely with ICANN staff to build the online learning platform content.
  • Judge the quality of content and its suitability for meeting learning goals and objectives
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Categorize, organize, and connect content in effective and meaningful ways
  • Collaborate, disseminate and integrate reporting and project information to team.
  • Augment and re-purpose content or author original content, as needed, to draw connections and fill gaps

Required Skills
  • An ability to build trust and relationships within a community of learning and help learners develop personal learning and knowledge management skills
  • Hands-on, practical knowledge of major technologies of the social Web and rapid authoring tools
  • Proven ability to compose clear reports, summaries and other written communication
  • An ability to do all of the above with an eye towards achieving the strategic goals of the organization, the platform, and the community
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Professional
  • Prior international experience strongly preferred.
  • An ability to effectively evaluate learning experiences and demonstrate effectiveness or ineffectiveness
  • Must have excellent communication skills including fluency in English with multi-lingual skills strongly preferred.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to multi-task and to work independently
  • Must be process-oriented and able to apply structure to complex problems
  • Ability to work with highly diverse workforce and to operate across functions
  • Ability to solve complex issues in an ambiguous environment
  • Ability to read and write in a foreign language, preferred
Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field - strongly preferred
  • Minimum 2 years related online learning experience
