Job Description
ICANN has an exciting new opportunity for an enthusiastic Human Resources Assistant. The
  • Human Resources Assistant will assist in carrying out the HR support functions for a complex, international, non-profit organization.
  • Support and handle the day-to-day processes established for employment (on-boarding/off-boarding/promotions/transfers), benefits administration, records management, employee relations, compensation, and compliance.
  • Serve as a resource for ICANN staff regarding HR issues and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support HR Manager(s) and other HR team members as needed with the coordination of HR processes including employment, compensation and benefits administration, employee relations, leaves of absence, HRMS.
  • Create, organize and audit HR files.
  • Assure files are complete, organized, current and meet HR standards and legal requirements.
  • Generate data reports for auditing, data loads and reporting purposes.
  • Support HR vendor accounts including the auditing and processing of monthly invoices and resolving technical issues.
  • Provide administrative support including calendaring, shipping, materials preparation, A/V, event lunches, HR team supplies, ergonomic evaluations, business cards.
  • Provide technical support for webinars, e-learning/virtual classroom meetings, staff wiki postings, PowerPoint slide decks.
  • Serve as liaison with other departments to support
  • inter-related processes or projects.
  • Recommend new approaches, processes, policies and procedures to effect business excellence of department and services performed.
  • Track the annual Conflicts of Interest Acknowledgment, annual Policy Acknowledgement and other annual acknowledgments as needed; maintain binders for auditing purposes.
  • Assist with legal compliance postings and notices.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.
Essential Job Functions:
  • General knowledge of HR disciplines and ability to support those functions.
  • Technical skills to use HR systems, remote meeting desktop and video conferencing software.
  • Train ICANN staff to become users of HR systems, evaluate and recommend work flow changes and coordinate system upgrades.

Required Skills
  • Must have excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills including fluency in English.
  • Multi-lingual skills strongly preferred.
  • Computer skills to use HR systems, databases, meeting desktop sharing and video conferencing software -required.
  • MS Office, Visio, HRMS.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently-required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and composure in the face of demands-required.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and improve work processes-required.
  • Strong sense of urgency, initiative and drive - required.
  • A contagious passion for ICANN's mission and a voracious appetite to learn.
Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred plus at least 2 years HR work experience.
  • Prior international business experience strongly preferred.
