Background
The OSCE is not in a position to pay any remuneration or cover any expenses incurred by the intern during his/her stay in Vienna nor reimburse travel expenses.
The Press and Public Information Section (PPIS) promotes awareness of the OSCE's work and is responsible for the Organization's public website. PPIS is currently undergoing consolidation of the public website with a goal towards improving its usability, structure and look and feel. PPIS is looking for an internship candidate who will support the PPIS web team in carrying out the website consolidation project.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Under the overall supervision of the Public Website Manager, and in coordination with the web editors, the intern will be requested to carry out the following duties:
  • Supporting the web team in fine-tuning the content for the presentation on the new public website;
  • Supporting the web team in preparation of instructions and promotional material targeting OSCE staff on how to use the new public website;
  • Supporting the web team in auditing the content of the public website including publications, documents, images and multimedia;
  • Supporting the web team in identifying multimedia content on the OSCE YouTube channel which could be used as Stories on the OSCE public website;
  • Testing the new public website:
  • Performing a range of accessibility tests using the online accessibility tools and noting the issues to the PPIS wiki space;
  • Testing the website internal search engine and noting the issues to the PPIS wiki space;
  • Testing the website's navigation and user interface and noting the usability issues to the PPIS wiki space.
Necessary Qualifications
  • Applicants should be under the age of 30 (on the date of the deadline of this vacancy notice) and from an OSCE participating State;
  • Students in the final year of higher education (university or other accredited institution) at graduate or postgraduate level: recent graduates or post-graduates, with a background in journalism, communications and/or international relations;
  • Knowledge of modern content management software and multimedia publishing tools and techniques;
  • Knowledge of HTML is desirable;
  • Professional fluency in English; knowledge of another OSCE working language would be an asset;
  • Good organizational skills with ability to process and classify information quickly and efficiently;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Internet applications;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
Remuneration Package
The internship will last three (3) to six (6) months and does not constitute a commitment to future employment with the OSCE.
The selected intern will participate in the group health insurance scheme at his/her own expense but the OSCE will cover life and disability insurance.
