Field Research Assistant (5 positions) with the Research Group of Water Sanitation and Hygiene under the Centre for Communicable Diseases (Advertisement #327/13)

icddr,b invites applications from suitable candidates for the position of  Field Research Assistant (5 positions) with the Research Group of Water Sanitation and Hygieneunder the Centre for Communicable Diseases. The appointment will be made on a Contractual Service Agreement (CSA) basis for 6 months, which may be renewable depending on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.

Duty Station – CCD-Field-Sites

Salary – Tk.20,990/-(consolidated) per month inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances. No other benefit is admissible.

Job Profile

• Project Implementation: Receive project assignment from  Field Research Officer; attend training conducted by WASH Benefits  Behaviour Change Communication(BCC) and training team/ research team to understand project objectives, BCC and communication strategies as per guidelines of study; conduct CHPs search, select and facilitate CHPs(Community Health Providers) basic and refresher training as per set  timelines in the study areas etc; visit field sites as per plan constructed by Field Research Officer;  mentor CHPs at the field sites and monitor their field work; maintain liaison among the team and other stakeholders in the assigned areas; trouble shooting of distributed hardware and report field updates monthly basis; reporting Severe Adverse Event (SAE) within in order to support research by uncovering evidence;

• Team Support: Train new CHPs in study interventions; demonstrate how to conduct courtyard meeting, household visit, follow up household, hardware maintenance, Lipid-based Nutrient Supplement (LNS) distribution; update vital registration, dropout of study participants and other events as per design of the study; provide feedback to individual team members on their interviewing skills; share experience and learning within the team in order to improve the productivity of the team.

Requirements:

Education and Relevant Experience:

• Bachelors degree, preferably Masters in any discipline;
• 1 year of experience in field research or project implementation.

• Water, sanitation and Hygiene intervention;
• Project implementation;
• Facilitating training.
