Description

The Marketing Business Operations team is responsible for measurement and reporting, including for our Senior Leadership Monthly Business Discussions. This includes defining broad reporting across the breadth of Microsoft’s business, producing a cross marketing scorecard and working with the various stakeholders to identify synergies and improvements.

In this role, you will focus on delivering critical reporting and data analysis to support the BI needs of the One Marketing team. This is an opportunity to leverage your passion for business intelligence to add considerable business impact through delivery of critical BI solutions. This position would assist in business intelligence reporting, enhancing the consistency, depth and breadth of business intelligence provided to leadership.

A critical component of the position is developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal clients, business leaders and the central groups that administer corporate standards and tools.
You will need to be comfortable in a wide range of settings: from presenting to senior leaders to coaching BI solution fundamentals to a non-technical audience. You must be self-motivated, proactive, and possess the demonstrated ability for maintaining depth of expertise in data understanding, business process and technical domains. This position requires a combination of strong organization, prioritization, excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to drill deep into an issue. It also requires working well in a team environment and building strong partnerships across different organizations.

The responsibilities of this position include:
Data Analysis and Reporting Excellence - Assist in the execution and management of prioritized initiatives including end to end reporting, metric, scorecard, and data set delivery. End to end delivery includes comprehensive documentation of business rule requirements from business to technical terms; development, testing, and readiness/ end user training. Identify and drive analysis around data issues, propose resolutions, assess impact, and ensure successful outcomes. This includes regular proactive engagement with multiple up-stream and reporting source system owners in order to better understand down-stream BI impacts. Support regular and periodic processes including month-end/week-end reporting rhythm, planning, and budgeting along with related coordination and communication. Help design models to set targets and methods for collecting and processing results across 95 geographies.

Process Improvements - Thoroughly understand business and operational processes to identify, develop, and drive solutions that optimize these processes to drive BI delivery and Business insight. Drive specific process improvements in business partner areas to provide thought leadership and value add to stakeholders. Includes standards and communication rigor.

BI thought leadership - Drive proactive and strategic value-add solutions by understanding the right application of technology and infrastructure. Stay at the forefront of industry trends and best practices to apply innovative solutions with high efficacy and efficiency.

Deliverables:
Assist in the operational production of various One Marketing scorecards
Support metric and data owners in building target models
Execute procedures for adding new metrics including analysis, design and definition of reporting as well as data collection and transformation
Assist in the design and operation of ad-hoc reporting requirements for business leaders

Qualifications:
Data minded individual with an understanding of database and business intelligence concepts 
Ability to deal with ambiguity associated with working in a fast paced and changing environment
Demonstrated understanding of data, metric, reporting, and solution delivery
Strong analysis and problem solving skills
Prior experience working with/in subsidiary Sales & Marketing teams preferred
4 year degree or related experience
3+ years previous experience working in a business intelligence or related function (e.g. Finance)
