Summary
Do you share our vision of a better world for children? We have an exciting opportunity to lead our corporate team and position Save the Children USA (SCUS) as the global children's NGO leader in corporate sector engagement. The Associate Vice President, Corporate Partnerships (AVP, CP) will lead corporate resource mobilization efforts. S/he will deliver strategic revenue goals valued at approximately $39 million in 2013 through engagement with external stakeholders and through successful partnerships with internal stakeholders.
The AVP, CP works across Save the Children International (SCI) to build global and multi-country corporate partnerships (CP). S/he brings corporate and marketing opportunities to SCUS to increase and enhance brand awareness and generate revenue. S/he develops marketing and branding strategies in conjunction with Marketing & Communications group.
The AVP, CP helps drive revenue for other business units such as sponsorship and the web. S/he leads and develops new business development and account management teams.
S/he seeks to expand our services to the corporate sector to include corporate social responsibility and private/public sector partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic planning and implementation for the corporate partnerships division.
- Lead corporate resource mobilization and engagement efforts, working through all available means including trustees, current partners and general networking to meet or achieve revenue over the campaign from cause promotions including cause related marketing and licensing, corporate foundation gifts, matching gifts and workplace giving, and gift-in-kind.
- Lead a team of eighteen (18) staff, plus external consultants, developing expertise and skills and creating a high-performance environment based on results.
- Work closely with fundraisers to craft strategies for corporate partners and maximize donations of existing corporate partners
- Oversee new business development to ensure identification and procurement of new corporate partners that result in a strategic and balanced portfolio of appropriate and profitable partnerships.
- Work collaboratively across all departments as an advisor and partner on areas impacted by corporate activity.
- Serve as agency lead/co-lead on SCI strategies for building global and multi-country strategic go-to-market strategies. Share knowledge and best practices with all SCI and peer members to contribute to the global goal of strengthening Save the Children SCI membership.
Required
- 15+ years' experience in progressively responsible private or public positions, with significant not-for-profit, P&L and supervisory experience.
- Extensive experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, promotions and communications.
- Proven track record in new business development in not-for-profit sector -- in competitive, matrixed environments.
- Proven experience in creating and leading a high performing team.
- Strategic thinker capable of inspiring a team to plan strategically and achieve goals
- International experience highly desired.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and work well with people from other countries and cultures
- Corporate social responsibility and public/private partnership experience highly desired
- Strong negotiator
- BA required, advanced degree in marketing, business, or communications highly desirable.
- Up to 30% travel may be required
