The Windows Embedded Business (WEB) is an aggressively growing oasis in the STB division, with the charter to extend the power of the Windows operating system to the world of Intelligent Systems. Our vision is to enable entire business solutions build with components running Windows. Our product lineup includes Automotive head units, retail Kiosk configuration, Handheld industrial devices, smart controllers, and much, much more.
The Platform team in WEB develops and delivers the core operating system components and tools used by internal and external partners to build embedded vertical solutions. We build configuration and specialized management components, device drivers for specialized peripherals, and services to lock down a general purpose OS into a dedicated purpose single function device.
In this role you will roll up your sleeves and leverage your skills and talent to design and implement Embedded specific features. You will be building blocks into the vision of Internet of Things (IoT) and Intelligent Systems.
The ideal candidate will have extensive developer experience in a broad range of technologies across the Windows platform.
This position requires
- Excellent C/C++ and/or C#/.Net programming skills
- At least 7 years of experience in designing, developing and shipping software products with complete product cycle for at least two commercial products
- Proven cross group collaboration skills
- Excellent organizational, communication, and motivational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Desire to work directly with customers, partners and engage with the OEM developer community.
Basic Qualifications
- 7 years’ experience C/C++ programming.
- A B.Sc. in computer science or equivalent.
Knowledge of Windows and WinRT Internals is a plus. Knowledge of Windows Components and Packaging would be helpful, but are not absolute requirements.
