Description
Job Purpose:
Support the implementation of ADB's managing for development results (MfDR) agenda to manage and sustain necessary organizational changes to mainstream further the MfDR approach across ADB. Assist in coordinating MfDR initiatives, including (i) annual development effective review (DEfR) process and reports; (ii) cascading of Strategy 2020 priorities into results-based departmental work plans; (iii) country level results data management and country development effectiveness reviews (country briefs); and (iv) MfDR communication plans, including publications and the overall website management. Work with broad policies and objectives, working directly with clients, with supervision for critical tasks.
Expected Outcomes
a. Managing for Development Results
- Lead the preparation of the annual DEfR process and related reports, and preparation of the country development effectiveness briefs.
- Manage the implementation of MfDR communication plans and all communication activities of Results Management Unit (SPRU), including publications, presentations, and the MfDR website.
- Coordinate with other departments and offices to prepare and monitor results-based work plans aligned with corporate priorities clarified in ADB's results framework.
- Contribute to the preparation of occasional papers for Asian Development Fund (ADF) negotiations on results issues
- Support Head, SPRU in the coordination of related SPRU’s activities.

- Support the preparation of written reports and presentations in relation to the MfDR agenda.

- Assist Head, SPRU in liaising with other international institutions and agencies, particularly other bilateral agencies and multilateral development banks (MDBs) in relation to MfDR. This may include support for ADB’s roles in the MDB Working Group on results.

d. Staff Supervision
- Take the role of team leader on MfDR communication plans and supervise the work of team members.
- Supervise the performance of teams and individuals providing clear direction and regular monitoring and feedback on performance.

Educational Requirements:
- Master's degree, or equivalent, in Business Administration, Development Economics, Strategic Communications, or related field. University degree in Business Administration, Development Economics, Strategic Communications, or related fields, combined with specialized experience in similar organization/s, may be considered in lieu of a Master’s degree.
Relevant Experience And Other Requirements:
Work experience
- At least 8 years of combined professional experience in planning and implementing strategy development and implementation, development project management, and communication (including strategic report writing).
- Experience in working in a developing nation
- Suitability to undertake the responsibilities mentioned above at the required level.
