Sr. Manager- Transaction Taxes

Primary Responsibilities
• Review complex telecommunication, sales, use, surcharge, gross receipts and excise tax returns for compliance and audit documentation. 
• Configuration of billing modules and product mapping of SKU’s to tax codes
• Prepare or review related payment requests. 
• Maintain and reconcile journal entries for the accurate recording of tax liabilities. 
• Create and/or revise spreadsheets and processes to satisfy auditor's requests. 
• Undertake recurring and special projects including utilization of support personnel as needed. 
• Act as a Tax Department subject matter expert/project point person on intra/inter departmental projects or initiatives. 
• Perform tax research on complex telecommunications tax issues. 
• Prepare and provide presentations on technical tax issues to intra/inter departmental personnel. 

Required skills:
• Accounting degree or equivalent experience in tax compliance/general accounting strongly desired.
• Strong knowledge of tax laws with the ability to research the most complex tax issues. 
• Telecommunication industry experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of systems (SAP, Vertex).
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with key internal and external personnel.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to complete assigned tasks without supervision. 
• Identify problems/issues and follow-up with the proper resolution.
• Strong knowledge of desktop software packages including Word, Excel and Access
• Ability to work simultaneously on numerous projects.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Manage, coach and train tax staff/team.
