If this describes you, we have a great opportunity for you on the Enterprise Commerce IT (ECIT) Solution Delivery team as a Senior Solution Manager to analyze the existing Volume Licensing experience and infrastructure and help shape the Next Generation of Volume Licensing for Microsoft Customers and Partners around the globe. 

The Solution Management team for NGVL is responsible for leading large, multi-year IT projects and is expected to assist in building the future state for quote, agreements, orders, user research, org & ID, entitlements and reporting. This role is focused in the entitlements feature area and requires you to quickly gain a thorough understanding of Microsoft volume licensing offerings and lifecycles, existing business processes and integration points, and the future systems and delivery roadmap. 

The ECIT SD team is responsible for driving solution design and execution excellence in support of the Microsoft Volume Licensing business. A Solution Manager owns and drives an IT solution end-to-end by working closely with business owners to gather customer requirements, translate them into clear requirements documents, and then works with engineering groups to design, develop, and test the platform and processes. In this role you have a unique opportunity to influence both business and technical decisions, be the primary liaison between the business and engineering teams, and wear both business and IT hats. 

As an ECIT Solution Manager you will be responsible for various aspects of planning and delivery of IT solutions:

Planning
- Collaborate with business partners to find alternatives and solutions to business challenges, including seeking out existing solutions (either internal to MS or external, 3rd party solutions) that can be leveraged to meet business requirements. 
- Engage the business client early and effectively to build solid relationships and push IT value upstream as key business direction is being set.
- Facilitate the IT planning and estimating phase with a full understanding of our ITLC methodology.
- Understand business problems and develop materials to make the business case to solve those business problems.
- Define, refine and gain agreement on scope and budget to sell the business case and receive funding to deliver the solutions to the business problem. Drive the prioritization process by which final portfolio decisions are made.
- Recommend systems and business best practices and drive adoption to ensure consistency of systems solutions.
- Ensure alignment of long-range business priorities and multi-year IT capabilities roadmap.


Delivery
- Communicate and build consensus with various groups (internal customers, vendors, external customers, senior technical/manager resources and executive management) regarding the vision and value proposition of the solution and options available to implement it. 
- Understand, articulate and document existing "as-is" systems & processes and define strategy for "to-be" business processes
- Elicit, develop, and document business requirements with various groups within Microsoft.
- Balance the customer’s requirements with various constraints (e.g., technology, schedule, budget and capacity) to ensure that the intended project benefits are realized. 
- Manage the delivery of requirements documents, use-case documentation, prototypical user experiences, test plans, and rollout communications.
- Create and maintain a cohesive, coordinated plan to deliver solutions that meet the stakeholders’ priorities within budgetary and product requirements and executing on that plan, including assisting other team members to do likewise.

The Successful Applicant Will Possess the Following Qualifications:
- Strong mix of both business experiences and skills, in order to establish credibility and to assert oneself as a trusted partner to the business client. 
- Excellent written communication skills to build vision and scope documents, BRDs, UAT plans, communication plans, training plans and presentations, combined with exceptional verbal communication skills to support the key bridging function between business and technology, played by Solution Managers. Strong negotiation and consensus building skills when dealing with internal customers, stakeholders and team members.
- Very strong program/project management skills deploying large-scale enterprise-scale IT solutions (planning, risk and issue management
- Ability to deal with the ambiguity associated with working in a fast paced and changing environment.
- Master in Computer Science or Information Science or an MBA degree

Basic Qualifications for the Position:
- 5+ years’ software development experience
- 5+ years’ experience with all aspects of and roles supporting the Software Development Life Cycle (SLDC)
- 5+ years’ experience required in a functional or business consulting role in product management, driving business strategy, architecture, and process re-engineering
- 3+ years’ SAP experience
- 3+ years’ experience with SQL
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field of study or equivalent experience in IT / software development and program/ project management or On-premise Licensing and Cloud Services.
