The XAML Design Tools team is a dynamic, passionate group dedicated to ensuring that the best user experiences in the world are built with our tools and delivered on Microsoft platforms. Our cutting edge tools, including Blend for Visual Studio, power the design and development of rich Windows Phone and Windows Store apps using XAML. Our products also enable the creation of great HTML, WPF, and Silverlight apps. To help address the challenges of a rapidly changing technology landscape, we are looking for a highly talented Senior Software Development Engineer in Test who shares our passion.

This engineer will drive the quality of some of our next generation of investments around the design and development of rich client applications. In addition to extremely strong technical and testing skills, successful candidates must thrive as part of an agile, fast moving, creative and artistic team. Candidates must also have a passion for innovation, software quality, and sound engineering practices. They should be comfortable with rapid changes in technology, and must demonstrate strong communications skills. They must have great partnership skills and be able to drive results cross-group and with internal and external partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
- Own and deliver test assets for our products, spanning multiple release cycles.
- Initiate and promote engineering best practices.
- Evaluate, adopt, and collaborate on existing technologies in the graphics testing space
- Build partnerships with feature team members, and with key partner teams in the company to ensure coordination of deliverables across Microsoft.
- Drive major initiatives across the team such as rolling out new tools or processes that help improve or streamline day-to-day activities.
- Identify and mitigate risks in the product life-cycle

Successful candidates will have:
At least 5 years of relevant expertise writing test assets for enterprise-class software using C#, C/C++
Outstanding technical problem solving skills, creativity, and passion for innovation and design
Experience with agile development processes
Deep knowledge of WinRT XAML, WPF or Silverlight is a plus
Knowledge of HTML/JavaScript/CSS is a plus
Knowledge of graphics algorithms is a plus
Experience writing and/or testing applications for Windows Store or Windows Phone is a plus
A proven track record of shipping high-quality software
A BS/MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent industry experience
