Job Description/Responsibilities:
The Senior Process Lead is responsible for management for processes in the BPU portfolio. The Senior Process Lead is accountable for evaluating the effectiveness of BPU solutions relative to the strategic objectives of the business processes they support. The Senior Process Lead provides business process design services and analyses to the business, maintains process scorecards, validates end to end solution test scenarios, and ongoing optimization of processes post release. The Senior Process Lead is responsible for the ongoing maintenance of processes in the BPU process repository and ensures governance over solution architectures and business processes. The Senior Process Lead collaborates closely with business process owners and with key roles in the solution management triad including the Delivery Manager and the Solution Architect, Engineering Test Leads and QBE. The Senior Process Lead is accountable for the application of architecture principles to business design in order to clearly link strategic objectives to business operations and IT initiatives. The Senior Process Lead is accountable for business design and analysis, multi-year roadmap development, and process prioritization and optimization of the underlying operating model for A2L.

• Design and development of the 7 core foundational views aligned to the Business Operating Model and as a framework for analysis. Drive strategic investment recommendations with stakeholders after analyzing these views.
• Describing and analyzing the primary business capabilities of an enterprise and the pieces of the organization that perform those capabilities through capability modeling, assessments and analysis, and business capability roadmaps.
• Driving business process prioritization, documentation and optimization across the supported business. Deliverables include process prioritization, documentation, optimization, and business process roadmaps.
• Analysis of business processes, identification of failure modes and optimization opportunities.
• Identifying and rationalizing the core corporate wide, business and technical service offerings.
• Driving a common understanding of business intent with a documented mission, vision, goals, objectives, measures and business models and driving the development of strategy on a page, strategy maps and balanced scorecards
• Baseline mapping of A2L portfolio processes in standard repository tools (Sparx/BusinessGenetics) to L4 or lower.
• Coordinate and evaluate comprehensiveness of end to end solution testing during release cycles.
• Maintenance of process scorecards and related CTQ (Critical to Quality) metrics.
• All required business architectural artifacts for A2L are updated to reflect the instantiated business designs and operating model and added to the centralized knowledge repository.
• A2L level business roadmaps aligned to enterprise-level business roadmaps.
• All solutions delivered in A2L provisioned to collect measurement of expected business value.
• Aligned business architecture strategy across A2L and aligned to enterprise-level strategy.
• Capturing the relationships among roles, capabilities, processes and business units, the decomposition of those business units into subunits, and the internal or external management of those units, and expression of results in heat maps, organization impacts, etc.
Other Responsibilities:
• This individual also needs to be a strong leader who can focus on the vision and strategies of the group while managing the tactical components of running the daily business. Balance daily support needs with long-term strategy and successfully combine vision and reality into effective plans.
• Track industry trends for business architecture and business strategy and provide your insights to the MSIT architecture community.
• Process rationalization, strategic planning and business alignment. Work with others to set expectations around opportunity realization through the application of business architecture.
• Maintain strong relationships and regular communication with senior business leaders, business owners and stakeholders within the business in relation to their business strategies, policies and programs.
• Use business architecture principles and models to realize future opportunities. Review prototypes, solution blueprints and project scope to ensure work is aligned to the future state business architecture.
• Communicate roles, responsibilities, authority, delegating them throughout A2L.
• Mentor and/or coach other business architects in the organization.
• Foster a climate that supports relationship building and collaboration at all levels throughout Microsoft IT and Microsoft.
• Partner across the business groups and field subsidiaries, to improve coordination, alignment, and the adoption of best practices.
• Ability to deal with the ambiguity associated with working in a fast paced and changing environment;
• Exceptional communication, problem solving and cross-group collaboration skills.
• Ability to recognize and resolve conflict.
• Demonstrated expertise using written & verbal communication skills to distill technology projects into understandable and compelling executive level presentations.

Skills (Technical)
• Six Sigma Black Belt Certification or equivalent experience preferred, minimum GB certification required.
• Demonstrated understanding of BPM (Business Process Management) and BPR (Business Process Reengineering).
• Hands on experience mapping and optimizing enterprise business processes in tools such as Sparx and BusinessGenetics.
• Capable of applying BPR skills to complex problems to develop, articulate, and build support around a long-term vision and deliver concepts with quantifiable business value in support of that vision.
• Experienced and practicing architect with deep subject matter expertise at the BPU sub-process level
• Experience with architectural frameworks and methodologies at the program and project level as well as operational frameworks (ITIL, COBIT).
• Ability to quickly develop relationships with line of business executives and build credibility with domain leaders in a matrixed organization.
• Ability to understand current/changing business processes, participation in defining application and platform functionality.
• Collaborating across other architecture domains to integrate and understand the current and future state technology architecture that impacts or is aligned with the strategy of the organization.
• Collaborating with information architects to establish the shared information and data within an organization and relationships between those semantics. An understanding of the information model and analyzing the business knowledge in relation to the other views is an important part of the analytics.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience with demonstrated expertise in complex architecture development and business change, Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in IT or Business; graduate degree preferred.
