Description

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable Nigerian Nationals for the position below at the Institute’s Headquarters in Ibadan.
Position/Responsibilities
  • Assist set up and conduct field experiments including all aspects of data collection.
  • Organise and lead field team in hybridization at Ikenne station.
  • Assist coordination of pollination activities and lead pollination team to hybridize selected cassava genotypes.
  • Assist in seed processing, packaging, labeling, distribution and storage of botanic seeds.
  • Assist in the generation, harvesting and maintenance of genetic stock.
  • Serve on teams for determination of dry matter content, cyanogenic content, post harvest physiological deterioration and root mealiness.
  • Assist training students on Industrial Attachment, National Youth Service Corps and other partner institutes.
  • Perform any other duty as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification, Experience and Skills
  • Ordinary National Diploma in Crop Production, Statistics, General Agriculture, Horticulture or related discipline from a reputable university/college/polytechnic.
  • Minimum experience of 5 years in a similar position.
  • Basic knowledge of crop management operations.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and work under pressure.
