Come be a part of the Windows Phone Services team and bring the magic of Windows Phone to the web.The Windows Phone Services team is looking for a rock star Senior Program Manager with an excellent balance of business, technical, and user experience skills to drive business intelligence and web analytics. This is a multi-faceted role that encompasses providing hands-on web analytics services for WindowsPhone.com and managing the Windows Phone Reporting platform, an online centralized portal for analysis, scorecards and dashboards. You will interface directly with internal clients to gather business requirements and clarify business questions and use data visualization tools to build out analysis dashboards and provide expert intelligence for your customers.
Focus areas include utilizing web analytics techniques to drive better marketing results, providing web analytics guidance to WPD and Microsoft marketers, and managing reporting / analytics portals for digital marketing activities on WindowsPhone.com and with other Microsoft consumer business portals (e.g. Microsoft.com). A qualified person needs a unique and diverse set of skills ranging from deeply technical knowledge of BI systems design, development, BI layer data modeling, robust website tagging, multi-dimensional clickstream data analysis, analysis summarization and presentation, stakeholder management, performance driven digital marketing, and Microsoft business strategy.
Job Responsibilities
o Web Analytics Analysis and Data Visualizations
§ Dive into an ocean of digital data of multiple sources and dimensions to analyze customer behavior
§ Synthesize analysis into logical visualizations that convey meaning from dense tables of data
§ Exude confidence and instill trust with business stakeholders through excellent communication skills at all levels of the business, sharing expertise and opinions about what should be measured, and how the measurement should be evaluated and be comfortable speaking about web analytics, digital marketing, and statistical analysis of data
§ Be able to analyze data quality and correctness in addition to customer behavior (i.e. do the numbers make sense) and be able to triangulate on data points to analyze why data anomalies occur
§ Understand how to put data and findings into the context of the business
§ Critical thinking skills to evaluate business requests and validate the importance relative to the business success metrics
§ Design reporting visualizations that allow marketers to easily consume integrated views across multiple data sources to observe performance trends of general web activity and campaign performance
Basic Qualifications:
o 5 years of experience in web marketing and/or business analysis
o 2 years’ experience with advanced web analytics methodologies such as experimentation, segmentation, testing, behavioral analysis, surveys and market research
Preferred Qualifications:
o A passion for web analytics, digging into all angles of digital marketing business analysis, and improving inefficiencies in processes and tools - being generally curious.
o Extremely detail oriented, process oriented, and organized
o Experience working with large volumes of data from disparate data sources, and proven track record for spotting actionable patterns and trends
o Deep understanding of database/web/reporting technologies and ability to translate technology to deliver business-facing solutions
o Proven experience in building programs where the programs’ stakeholders are from across organizational disciplines and departments
o Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex situations in clear terms to management and large groups
o Tool experience: Excel (expert) | WebTrends and/or Omniture SiteCatalyst (expert) (or similar data analytics reporting experience)
o Experiences with one or more of these tools a plus: Social Sharing Tracking (e.g. Meteor) | Social Media Engagement Management (e.g. Sprinklr) | Social Listening (e.g. Visible, Sysomos) | A/B/n testing (e.g. WT Optimize, Adobe T&T) | Tag management (e.g. Ensighten, TagMan) | Segmentation (e.g. BlueKai)
