MSF-CH in Myanmar carries out medical programs in Tanintharyi Region. We are looking for motivated and experienced candidates for the position of:
Lab Technician (Short Term) (Myitta Yeik clinic) MSF PROJECT IN TANINTHARYI DIVISION
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform laboratory exams (serology, hematology, biochemistry, bacteriology, parasitology, according to context), with the appropriate techniques, and according to standard protocols approved by MSF Preparing and reading Malaria smear slide and TB smear slide. 2nd reading for Malaria smear slide and TB smear slide from previous month Registration for tests request, CD4 testing , ALAT testing, creatinine testing by machine Ensure and coordinate all administrative tasks related to samples processed in external laboratories (requestpaper, transfer-paper) if paramedic team supervisor is absent Give information to the relevant persons (ward/doctors/nurse according to context) about the results, respecting confidentiality Always ensure that sample results are correctly reported and clerical errors are avoided by close monitoring. Ensure a good reporting and registration of the analysis done and their results in order to keep a written track of activity and to be able to write regular report. Make sure quality controls are done regularly: internal and external. Carry out sample collection when needed and ensure the proper transport to the external laboratory according to safety guidelines Know and apply hygiene protocols (for individual and collective protection). Carry out cleaning and tidying up of the laboratory. Ensure briefing of cleaning persons on biohazards and Ensure proper sample disposal according to highest MSF safety standards. Manage and organise efficiently the laboratory equipment and supply: orders, stock follow-up, storage conditions, inventory, follow-up of expired reagents and kits and their proper disposal Actively monitor and report laboratory activities in MTY clinic, analyse these statistics and submit them the Paramedic Team Supervisor and Ensure a relevant transfer of information to the next duty team. Report immediately to the technical referent any problem arising in the service, especially the loss/ robbery/damage of medical equipment or medicines. Monitor Machines and ensure well usage and maintenance on a daily basis.

Education A Laboratory Technician diploma/degree recognized by the state In basic project with a need for a generic laboratory: no experience is required but it is an asset In a highly specific project, the labtech needs an experience on the subject of interest (e.g.TB culture) ...
