Job: Investment Specialist

Description

Role Purpose: To contribute and work with the Senior Investment Officers / Lead Investment Officers to process PPP infrastructure projects, Lines of financing, contribute to Division’s works as assigned by Division Manager / Senior members with a view to achieve Department’s objective.
Key Activities:
  • Contribute in marketing activities, contribute to development of marketing materials and client communications.
  • Provide support to manage client relationships.
  • Follow up leads identified.
  • Contribute to processing and execution of PPP deals.
  • Review of due diligence reports prepared by external consultants, develop risk matrix & mitigation strategies, participate in negotiation, preparation of documentation etc.,
  • Review and comment on project documents & contracts, create financial models,
  • Prepare documents, presentations, memos for internal and external purposes (for example, Project Concept Document, Mandate Letters, Engagement Letters, RRP, etc.
  • Participate in selection of consultants, if needed.
  • Contribute to the processing of Lines of Financing.
  • Actively manage and monitor the transactions until hand over to project finance monitoring team.
  • Prior to handover, monitor adherence of covenants, conditions precedents and other terms & conditions of financing, as well as ensure timely disbursements and receipt of fees.
  • Review project information, prepare reports and propose solutions on critical issues for internal discussion.
  • Contribute to the management of problem projects, in close coordination with other Departments (e.g Legal, GRMD, FCD etc) of the Bank.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of economy, business conditions and Islamic financial industry to contribute / participate in preparing country and sector strategy (e.g MCPS).
  • Contribute / participate to the development and strategy of the Division and Department. Provide support and assistance to other team members in respect of their work as necessary.
  • Contribute and participate to the development and implementation of efficient & effective practices, procedures and systems in order to streamline Division's activities.
  • Perform ad-hoc assignments as entrusted by the Division.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • A Master degree in related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience.
  • Hands on experience in project finance, corporate finance and related infrastructure experience – ideally gained at a commercial lending institute.
  • Knowledge of industry / sector trends, financial markets and Islamic finance.
  • Good business development and client relationship skills, ability to focus effectively on clients needs
  • Robust analytical and problem solving skills to identify issues and present practical solutions
  • Ability to interact with external parties
  • Capacity to deal with conflicting priorities and deliver high quality work on schedule; facility to work successfully in multicultural teams and across boundaries
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
