Food Monitor Monitor

General Responsibility : The Field lvlonitor Assistant will work in the Disaster, Preparedness and Response Unit, Rakhine Sittwe Office

Responsibility

• Facilitate implementation of the Disaster Preparedness and Response Project at the regional and local levels to meet the project objectives;
• Conduct research and analysis as well as assessments of capacity needs of concerned government entities, in collaboration with WFP.
• Assist and facilitate regular meetings at the regional and local WFP units level;
• Conduct regular frequent field missions to project sites for monitoring the progress of the projects, enable completion of all monitoring and evaluation documentation as outlined in the monitoring and evaluation plan and according to the timelines indicated;
• Liaise and coordinate with WFP for the smooth implementation of the project, and provide timely reports on recommended actions
• Ensure appropriate programme visibility in the field;
• Document projects' experiences and lessons learned;
• Assist in the identification of project areas;
• Facilitate and review project regular reports generation process; lnterface with partner institutions including NGOS to ensure convergence of activities and to avoid overlapping.
• Troubleshoot or resolve conflict with local government, communities partners as required;
• Emergency response, monitoring, and assessment as required; and,
• Perform other relaled duties as required.

Requirements:

Education: Secondary school education, supplemented with experience or additional education in education, social services, nutrition, agriculture or other related field. University degree in Social Science or any development related degree is an advantage.

Experience: At least three (3) years of progressively responsible support experience including at least one year in the lield of statistics, camps operations, or another related field. Work background in NGOs is an advantage. Knowledge: Good computer knowledge of Microsoft software applications, particularly MS Excel.

Language: Fluent both in written and spoken English, Bengali is advatntage. Willing to frequently travelto project sites.

The position of small business facilitator Rakhine State will be based in Sittwe.
