More information about us and our work can be found at www.cgiar.org The Consortium is looking for a dynamic and mission-oriented individual to lead our shared Internal Audit Unit (IAU). The centers undertake high-quality science with our partners aimed at benefiting the poor through improved food security, better human nutrition and health, higher incomes and improved management of natural resources. The IAU provides independent assurance and strategic advice designed to add value and improve the centers' operations. The Director will ensure that IAU business objectives are met, resources are employed efficiently and effectively, and that audit work conforms to international professional standards. Based at the Consortium Office in Montpellier, France, the Director will report functionally to the Consortium Board on CRP Audits, individual Center Boards on Center Audits and administratively to the Consortium Director of Finance and Corporate Services.

As chief internal audit executive, the Director is responsible for properly managing the internal audit activities of the Unit so that:
The Unit fulfills its established business objectives Internal audit resources are employed efficiently and effectively, and in accordance with the overall directives of the CGIAR Audit Advisory Group and relevant host Center financial and administrative policies Audit work conforms to the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing published by the Institute of Internal Auditors and adopted by the CGIAR. The Director establishes plans to carry out the responsibilities of the Unit. This process involves establishing and maintaining an overall Business Plan for the Unit Unit-level and client-level audit work schedules, staffing plans, financial budgets and fee structures, and activity reports. An Internal Audit Advisory Panel representing clients, reporting to the Consortium Board and consisting of representatives from the Consortium Board, Centre Audit Committee Chairs and the Corporate Service Executives (CSE), will provide oversight of the CGIAR-IAU budgets and fees, Director and unit performance planning and evaluation and other matters not directly related to client specific audit or audit plans.

The Director of Internal Audit is an internationally recruited position. The successful candidate will be contracted by Bioversity International on behalf of the CGIAR Consortium. Bioversity offers an attractive remuneration package including a competitive salary, non-contributory retirement plan, medical insurance, housing allowance and leave provisions. All benefits are denominated and paid in US Dollars. The initial contract will be for three years, subject to a probationary period of twelve months.
