Description
Main duties:
Under the supervision of the Head of the Customer Service Center (the Center), and, where appropriate, the Senior Information Officer responsible for WIPO's briefings program, the incumbent assumes responsibility for the following tasks:
(a) organize and coordinate briefing programs for groups of visiting high school, undergraduate and post graduate students as required under the WIPO briefings program. Deliver general presentations on WIPO, its history, structure and activities in English and French for WIPO briefings program and respond to questions about the Organization's activities;
(b) organize, in collaboration with relevant sectors, WIPO's participation in local outreach events (e.g. Geneva Inventions Fair, Open day, UN day, AID for Trade, etc.); represent the Organization at these events and respond to enquiries from the public as appropriate;
(c) develop and maintain the Center's knowledge base (service catalogues, FAQ standard replies, procedures, etc.), namely write, collect, analyze, structure and edit all documents, notes and communications used for handling customer enquiries, and ensure agreement with other customer service teams;
(d) assist in the process of defining, developing and implementing communications plans related to customer service initiatives (e.g. service orientation training, feedback surveys, management reporting, brochures, etc.);
(e) provide advice and information (by phone, email or in person) to WIPO customers in relation to the wide range of WIPO queries handled by the Center, and liaise with other sectors within the Organization as necessary to ensure that all inquiries are handled according to the agreed standards;
(f) assist in responding to requests received by the Center for support for ad-hoc activities organized by the Communications Division and other sectors within the Organization.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
University degree in corporate communications, public affairs or other relevant field.
Experience:
At least three years of relevant professional work experience in communication, education or customer assistance-related activities. A knowledge of WIPO's customer service structure and services would be an advantage.
Skills:
Excellent communication skills including a proven ability to draft and edit written material for the public and to speak in public.
Strong customer service orientation.
In-depth knowledge of WIPO's activities and services.
Broad understanding of intellectual property rights and issues surrounding them.
Ability to work well in a team and to perform under pressure.
Languages:
Fluent English and French. Knowledge of other languages would be an advantage.
Annual salary:
(Net of tax)
- 46,730 USD
49,821 USD (with primary dependants)
Additional Information:
- Salaries and allowances are paid in Swiss francs at the official rate of exchange of the United Nations. Salary is composed of the base salary plus the post adjustment. Variations may occur each month either upwards or downwards due to the currency exchange rate fluctuations or inflation.
Additional testing/interviewing may be used as a form of screening.
