Field Research Supervisor (2 posts) with Health and Demographic Surveillance Unit, Matlab under the Centre for Population, Urbanization and Climate Change (Re-Advertisement #287/13)

icddr,b invites applications from suitable candidates for the positions of Field Research Supervisor (2 posts) with Health and Demographic Surveillance Unit, Matlab under the Centre for Population, Urbanization and Climate Change. The appointment will be made on a fixed-term basis for 2 years which may be extended for further period depending on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.

Duty Station – Matlab, Chandpur

Salary – Annual Tk. 304,940/- inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances with other admissible benefits.

Benefits/facilities – 14.8% retirement fund contribution by icddr,b, children allowance @Tk.1,420/- per child per month, medical facilities for dependent spouse and children, group life insurance. Subsidized canteen, transport and daycare facilities subject to availability. 

Job Profile:

• Plan, supervise and monitor the works of CRHWs and provide them feedback on their works routinely;
• Collect Verbal Autopsy (VA) data by visiting household of deceased family;
• Conduct Sub-centre/Block meetings and update CHRWs with new instructions and guidelines;
• Download data from electronic devices used in the field for data collection;
• Crosschecks and edit data before submission of data set to computer section;
• Ensure logistic support;
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements:

Education and Relevant Experience:

• Masters degree with good academic records;
• At least 3 years work experience on supervision and monitoring of data collection activities preferably in health and demographic data collection;
• Person has valid motorbike driving license and willing to ride motorbike, experience on using electronics devices for collecting data will get added advantage.

Functional Competencies:

• Interviewing skill at community level;
• Able to identify inconsistent/incorrect data;
• Able to work in rural culture;
• Computer proficiency in MS Office;
• Able to work with GoB and NGO program personnel, local Govt. bodies etc.;
• Supervisory knowledge;
• Good command of both Bengali and English;
• Responsive to organizational rules and regulations.
