ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for assisting with researching, planning, developing, writing and editing a variety of communication materials and implementing the programs and communication strategies to increase and sustain awareness and support of the vision and goals of the Major Systems Initiative (MSI). S/he reports to, and works closely with, the MSI Communications Manager as well as MSI project teams to identify communication needs and opportunities and develop overall communications.
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Assists with drafting communications plans and coordinating/executing communications plan deliverables and tactics.
  • Identifies communications/writing needs across businesses/projects and develops/disseminates them per project team or business leadership approval; ensures consistency across all MSI communications.
  • Applies learned systems change/adoption strategies in MSI internal messaging and communications plan, for example:
  • Creates various communications using a mix of online and traditional media, such as newsletter articles, intranet site content, project-specific presentations, MSI leadership talking points, video script and content ideas etc.; communications should influence audiences to adopt new technologies, processes, etc.
  • Manages and updates various project team intranet site communications resource sections.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities. TNC
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or related field and minimum 4 years related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience assisting with implementing organization-wide communications and/or change management strategies.
  • Experience writing and editing one or more of the following: newsletter, magazine, annual report, web-site articles/stories, acknowledgment letters, fact sheets, presentations or equivalent.
  • Experience presenting to diverse audiences including some or all of the following: senior leadership, project team members, and the public or equivalent.
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects or related.
  • Experience managing communication/writing needs of a large, multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience working with MS Office suite software including MS Word, Adobe Photoshop or graphic design software.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, or related field and 4 years related experience or equivalent combination.

  • Oral and Written Communication -
Superb writing, editing, and verbal communication skills; transparent with written and verbal communications promoting teamwork and efficiency; experience in internal/external communications, marketing and brand campaigns preferred.

Observes, listens, and interprets correctly at all levels.
  • Persuasiveness -
Uses the correct tone, style, and arguments based on timing, context, and discussion partner.
