Only pre selected candidates will be contacted for interview. Médecins du Monde (MDM) is an International Non Governmental Organization (INGO) implementing HIV/AIDS and community health programs in Myanmar.
GENERAL MISSION
The Logistic Supervisor works for a project aiming at increasing access to Primary Health Care, Maternal and Child Health Care and increasing knowledge and awareness on health issues, reducing maternal and under 5 mortality of the rural population of Pyapon Township. The Logistic Supervisor is hired to ensure the smooth running of logistic operations and the management of the association's assets (equipment, premises and communication) on the site, in adherence with MdM rules, guidelines and procedures.
Duties Description
PROCUREMENT
- The Logistic supervisor is overall responsible for the procurement of all the necessary items for the project. He/she organizes and manages the procurement in a timely and correct manner, supervises the local purchases done by the log assistant.
STOCK MANAGEMENT
- Maintains accurate and updated stock and asset lists, providing timely alerts to the field Coordinator in case of required refills
- Monitors drug consumption of volunteers in the villages, preparing the appropriate refills and supervises the distribution of these refills
- Ensures that all medical stock is stored appropriately, with due regard for storage conditions and expiry dates
- Update the monthly stock statement overview
- Ensures that safety & security precautions are in place, particularly with regard to fire safety, water damage, physical security, and emergency supplies
- Organizes the stock movement between the different locations according to needs
- Defines improvements to be implemented by log assistants/storekeeper concerning stock management.
TRANSPORTATION
- Logistic supervisor is overall responsible for fleet management and organizing all transportation (boats, cars, motorbikes, tuktuk, bicycles …).
- Works closely with the Project team in preparing field trip and transportation schedule and arranges transportation, fuel and supplies in support of project activities, including activities by outreach staff, trainings, and supervision trips.
- Selects the boats/cars that are suitable to rent, negotiates and explains the contract, gives the necessary information to Administration for contract issuing.
- Prepare combined monthly fuel consumption report and follow up of the Boats/vehicles.
- Ensures that boats & vehicles are in good and safe condition according to MDM security guidelines.
- Ensures that safety & security precautions are in place, particularly with regard to fire safety, water, physical security, and emergency supplies
MAINTENANCE
- Supervises the maintenance of MdM's assets and premises and ensures that all bases and sub-bases remain in proper conditions.
- Make sure that all MdM equipment's are in good and safe working condition and maintained properly regularly.
PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT
- Participates in recruitment and annual evaluation of staff supervised by the Logistic Supervisor
- Prepares shift schedules and manages leave days in a fair and equitable manner
- Helps ensure adherence to safety & security guidelines among all staff
- Organizes regular logistic meetings to prepare project activities, discuss issues and concerns, and gather regular feedback
- Draw up job descriptions for each team member directly supervised by him/her and update them according to evolution and needs of the organization.
REPROTING ANDCOMMUNICATION
- Reports directly to the Field Coordinator on ongoing logistic activities, purchases, requirements and concerns
- Works closely with the Logistic Coordinator in the follow-up of purchase orders and other technical issues; submits regular asset and stock reports
- Participants in Coordination Meetings and general staff meeting Visit the sub bases and advise to Field Coordinator on the Logistical issues

- Updates the record of inventory and movement, prepare reports every month to Logistic coordinator. Negotiate and follow contracts for premises renting and maintenance.
Requirements
Essential
- Bachelor or Master Degree
- At least 3 years experience as logistician
Desired
- Additional specialized trainings in the field of Logistics (finance, Human Resources)
- Previous experience as Logistics Supervisor/ Officer in INGO.
- Fluency in Myanmar and English
- Languages (both oral and written)
- Advanced knowledge in personnel administration & management Organisation, rigour, anticipation Honesty, integrity Self-insurance, leadership
- Excellent expression and communication skills, ability to manage confidentiality
- Strong IT knowledge. would be a plus
- Special interest in humanitarian and social work
