Organizational Context:
The post is located in the PCT Knowledge Management Section in the PCT User Resources Service of the PCT Legal and User Relations Division. The PCT Legal and User Relations Division is responsible for certain aspects of the legal work associated with the PCT, as well as the informational, training and user relations work. The incumbent contributes to the legal and organizational work of the Section by carrying out a range of activities in the preparation and management of legal information materials (online databases, content management systems, internet resources) for a variety of PCT stakeholders. The incumbent works under the supervision of the Head of Section.
Main duties:
The incumbent performs the following tasks:
- based on existing legal and related texts, develop, edit, update and maintain legal resources and information materials in multiple languages for PCT users and concerned staff in the Organization.
- coordinate the translation and revision of legal texts, legal resources and information materials resources into any or all of the PCT publication languages.
- represent the Organization at national and international meetings. Participate in internal and external seminars, workshops and training courses and deliver training and presentations.
- make proposals to enhance the use of technology in the activities of the Division, and liaise with concerned work units for follow-up.
- oversee the editing, proofreading, layout, design, printing, version control, access to and archiving of multiple language versions of the PCT legal texts, legal resources and information materials.
- monitor and supervise the circulation and processing of incoming information, updating resources accordingly, including the PCT partners of the WIPO website.
- provide input for the maintenance and development of knowledge management-related policies and practices for the Division and follow up on their implementation.
- compile, maintain and analyze statistics, make proposals to enhance efficiency and quality of information materials.
- perform other related duties as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- University degree in law, translation or knowledge management.
Experience:
Essential:
- At least six years of relevant professional experience including in intellectual property and/or knowledge management.

- Experience with the PCT system.

Annual salary:

56,091 USD
60,091 USD (with primary dependants)
Post adjustment:
103.3 % of the above figure(s). This percentage is to be considered as indicative since variations may occur each month either upwards or downwards due to currency exchange rate fluctuations or inflation.
Additional Information:
-Salaries ans allowances are paid in Swiss francs at the official rate of exchange of the United Nations.
- Initial period of two years, renewable, subject to satisfactory performance. No fixed-term appointment or any extension hereof shall carry with it nay expectancy of, nor imply any right to, (further) extensions or conversion to a permanent appointment.
Additional testing/interviewing may be used as a form of screening.
