Basic purpose
Under the close supervision of the Corporate Services Manager/Project Leader/Project Scientist (Dr. Thawda Win) is responsible for driving of IRRI vehicle for officially dispatched
trip on scheduled shift assignment or appointed time. Convey passengers and cargo timely and safely to various points of destinations. Maintain excellent and roadworthy condition of the vehicle assigned.Keep log-books up to date and provide office support when required.

Major Accountabilities / Responsibilities
*Provide quality transport services for IRRI assets (persons and items), including
Transport IRRI staff, visitors or VIP's safely to any destination assigned by IRRI
Deliver/Pick-up important institute documentsEnsure comfort and safety of all passengers, by driving safely and according to the traffic rulesAbide to and monitor traffic rules & regulation, occupational health and safety requirements (Seat belt)of passengers and driversReplace other drivers when needed*Provide proper care and maintenance of assigned vehicleCheck for the roadworthiness and safety check-up of assigned vehicle before the tripSubmit Vehicle Condition Report if there's unusual condition in the vehicle after the trip, including any damage caused by accidentEnsure that the vehicle is clean and presentable and all necessary tools are onboard*AdministrationSubmit duly accomplished book log book to vehicle dispatcher for vehicle maintenance recordEnsure that overtime sheet is approved by supervisor regularlyKeep vehicle documents (registration, fitness) and driving license up to date*Office/Field SupportAssist in cleaning duties and general support for maintenance office facilities when necessaryProvide basic administrative support when not on travelling such as photocopying and faxingProvide basic support in the organization of meetings, trainings and seminarsAssist in organizing other (field) activities such as farmer's day or field day, meetings, training at field levelPurchase small goods, such as office supplies, when required*Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor from time to timeProvide general support to LIFT activitiesQualification Requirements:Class Eight pass from any recognized high schoolMinimum 5 years of professional driving experience of light vehicles preferably in an International OrganizationSpecific Skills required:In possession of driver's licenseHas good knowledge of the roads in the areaHas basic oral communication skillsHas participated in First Aid TrainingMaintains good interpersonal relationshipsKnowledge & experience on basic safety and security in the fieldOrganized, self-motivated, and self-reliantExcellent capabilities in driving vehicle to remote areas
