Description
The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking for its Secretariat General (SG) - Institutional Strategy Department (ISD) - at its headquarters in Luxembourg:
Trainee
Duration: 5 months starting as soon as possible
Objective of the traineeship
Elaboration of scenario and market analysis in the context of the elaboration of the EIB strategy.
Responsibilities
Analysis of the market evolution and its impacts on the activities of the Bank with particular reference to risk elements; the analysis shall provide different scenarios on the evolution of the curves in different markets with particular attention to the inter-correlation of different variables.
Such scenarios should be used to assess the sustainability/appropriateness of the Bank strategy in the near future. They could also be used in the context of the ALCo, which is elaborating possible review of the ALM policy of the Bank.
Qualifications
- Degree in economics and finance with background in statistical analysis. A master degree would be an advantage
- Excellent knowledge of databases and spreadsheets (Excel)
- Understanding of financial markets (knowledge of Reuters system would be an advantage).
- Good capability to elaborate financial reports as well as write notes on the results of the analysis
- Good statistical skills
- Excellent knowledge of English. Knowledge of French would be an advantage
