Background
Please note that the OSCE is not in a position to pay any remuneration or cover any expenses incurred by the intern during his/her stay in Vienna nor reimburse travel expenses.
The Asset Management and Logistics Unit (AMLU) is responsible for managing the OSCE assets inventory, as well as providing guidance and direction on other aspects of the supply chain. This includes fleet management, freight forwarding and insurance.
Tasks and Responsibilities
The AMLU is seeking an internship candidate for 6 months starting 1 September 2013, who will work with all members of the team and will be tasked with the duties outlined below:
  • Assisting with the annual asset verification within the Secretariat;
  • Assisting in data entry and preparation of various reports extracting data from the Oracle database;
  • Assisting with the preparation of year-end reports for financial statements;
  • Performing other duties as required.
Necessary Qualifications
  • Applicants should be under the age of 30 (on the date of the deadline of this vacancy) and from an OSCE participating State;
  • First-level university degree in logistics or supply chain management or related subject;
  • Working experience with databases and/or ERP systems;
  • Professional fluency in English with excellent communication skills; knowledge of other OSCE working languages would be an asset;
  • Strong analytical, research and drafting skills;
  • Good organizational skills with ability to process and classify information quickly and efficiently;
  • Computer literate;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with people from different national and cultural backgrounds, whilst maintaining impartiality and objectivity.
Remuneration Package
The internship lasts six (6) months and does not constitute a commitment to future employment with the OSCE. Initially a 3 month internship will be offered with possibility of extension.
The selected intern will participate in the group health insurance scheme at his/her own expense but the OSCE will cover life and disability insurance.
