Background
A vacancy has arisen in the Headquarters of the OSCE Presence in Albania for a Programme Assistant (G5), in the Political and Public Affairs Unit (PPAU).
Tasks and Responsibilities
The incumbent will be under the direct supervision of the Chief Political, Public Affairs and Reporting Officer within the Head of Presence Office and will perform the following duties:
  • Assist in the reporting work of the Unit and assist in preparation of reports and briefing materials on a daily basis;
  • Support coordination and implementation of PPAU-led projects;
  • Provide administrative and logistic assistance and support in the preparation of budget estimates and project documents, monitoring of activities and participating in project evaluation;
  • Attend where necessary project- or event-related internal meetings on behalf of the office;
  • Act as interpreter and translator when required;
  • Arrange meetings with representatives of international organizations, governmental officials, etc.;
  • Maintain the filing system including archiving of documents;
  • Deal with incoming and outgoing electronic data, paper work and correspondence;
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
Necessary Qualifications
  • Secondary school education supplemented by specialized studies in political science, languages, or social sciences;
  • Minimum 4 years professional work experience, in a central or local governmental institution, international organization, and/or private enterprise;
  • Good office management and coordination skills and archiving;
  • Experience in the conduct of and participation in meetings as well as in official communication, in particular in interpreting for officials and/or internationals from/to local language;
  • Familiarity with Albanian institutions, central and local government and main political developments;
Must be computer literate with practical experience in Windows applications;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and local language;
  • Any other language is an asset;
  • Ability to work with people of different nationalities, religions and cultural backgrounds;
  • Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and an ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities.
Remuneration Package
According to the fixed OSCE salary scale, the remuneration is approximately 819.50 EURO, subject to National Social Security deductions.
