JOB PROFILE
Save the Children began its humanitarian activities in Myanmar since 1995. In 2002, Save the Children launched the Dawn Microfinance Program (DMP) in the peri-urban areas of Yangon and have since also expanded to rural areas throughout the country. The Dawn Microfinance Program is seeking the following position:
Job Title: Cashier I Admin Assistant
Place of Work: Mawlamyine & Hpa-an
Number of Positions: 2
Grade: 6
Reports To: Finance Manager through Accountants
Works with: Branch Managers, Loan Officers, Regional Managers and FinanceManager
Child Protection Level: I (The responsibilities of the post do not require to worlk directly with children or young people)
Primary duties and responsibilities:
  • Maintain all daily cash transactions
  • Report end of day cash balance to H O cashier at close of each business day
  • Responsible for all cash in hand and petty cash managementMaintain up to date cash ledgers (cash book)
  • Maintain and monitor cash flow of each branch with Branch manager input and final approval
  • Develop and submit one month and two week plans for cash needs
  • Complete all necessary cash requests processes at least I0 days prior to cash needs
  • Prepare Receipt and Payment Vouchers; submit weekly to HO
  • Verifies and safeguards all vouchers and originating documentation as per policies
  • Ensure Loan Officers follow proper procedures for cash management, including advanceforms
  • Coordinating with staff on financial policies and financial reporting requirements especially asrelates to cash management
  • Maintaining files
  • Assisting each branch office with administrative tasks - such as bill payments, contracts,arranging workshops, etc
  • Manage all processes with regarding to procurement - purchase of equipment and supplies; and
  • Maintaining inventory lists and fixed asset register

Qualifications
  • University graduate, preferably in finance and accounting or related field
  • Minimum one year working experience in Finance and accounting
  • Good communication, monitoring and planning skills
  • Computer proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets
  • Excellent communication skills in local and English language
  • Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children's aims, values and principles.
  • A commitment to children's rights, children's participation and non-discrimination
