INTERNAL/EXTERNAL VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT OPERATIONAL CONTEXT/DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direct supervision of Field Safety Associate, the incumbent undertakes the following tasks:

• Performs security section administrative tasks like processing Movement of Personnel forms, Road Mission Requests, and Monthly Security Clearance requests;
• Keeps records of staff movement/missions, various tracking lists/records; Maintains contact lists of UNHCR staff , UN , INGOs and government authorities
• Manages filing of security related documents
• When necessary accompanies staff on field mission and provides security feedback/advice if necessary
• Liaises with local law enforcement, civil authorities, NGOs, and UN agencies to obtain and exchange information on security issues.
• Maintains contacts with other UN agencies as well as other security actors for provision of update security information/assistances.
• Collects information on the current security situation.
• Assists in preparation and maintenance of security guidelines, measures & standards
• Maintains database of all security incidents; manages stock of security and communication equipment.
• Responds to staff security emergencies and provides immediate assistance if necessary.
• Helps Field Safety Advisor in organizing and conducting trainings/workshops;
• Help access of UNHCR visitors into UN compound Undertakes other duties as required.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

• Completion of secondary education with relevant training and experience in security and safety issues;
• Minimum 3 years of previous job experience relevant to the function Analytical thinking;
• Political awareness; Good communication skills (written and oral)
• Good computer skills Good understanding of security and defense apparatus;
• Fluency in English, Arabic and Kurdish (written/oral/comprehension)
