We are seeking a dynamic, innovative, self-motivated, and service-orientated professional for the position of Administrative Assistant in the Genetic Resources Program – Seeds of Discovery.

The position will be based in the SAGA Laboratory at the "Centro Nacional de Recursos Genéticos" (CNRG), in Tepatitlán, Jalisco, Mexico.
Specific responsibilities of this position will include:
  • Provide administrative support to the SAGA leader as well as SAGA staff, consultants, partners and visitors.
  • Coordinate with his/her program assistant counterpart at CIMMYT's main campus (in El Batán, Texcoco) to prepare purchase requisitions and expense reports.
  • Archive documents and reports generated by SAGA operations.
  • Assist in communicating with CNRG, CIMMYT colleagues and external collaborators.
  • Take care of teleconferencing arrangements, taking calls and general correspondence.
  • Coordinate events hosted at SAGA and arrange travel logistics of SAGA personnel (ticket booking, transport and accommodation arrangements, visa, etc.)
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, communications materials, Power Point presentations, etc.
  • Other related tasks that may be assigned by the SAGA leader from time to time.
We are seeking candidates with the following qualification, skills and attitudes:
  • BA/BS degree in Administration, Accounting or related field.
  • 1 year of experience in similar tasks and position.
  • Excellent bilingual skills (English/Spanish), including presentation skills.
  • Intermediate level in Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong level of cultural sensitivity to understand the needs of all staff and partners.
  • High level of responsibility, confidentiality and discretion.
  • Ability to work with different nationalities, under pressure and as a member of diverse work team.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and schedule availability.
