Functional Responsibilities
The UNOPS ICT Enterprise Reporting Team is responsible for the development, delivery and maintenance of organization-wide reporting information for internal use, external partner use and for public use. The team's flagship product, the Workspace, is a platform for internal use that incorporates information from all UNOPS practices and all data sources within UNOPS and presents the information using rich visualizations designed to aid understanding and action.
The ICT Reporting Data Specialist will work under the direct supervision of the ICT Enterprise Reporting Lead and be required to design and implement data architecture to support data structures optimized for reporting and analytics.
The incumbent is responsible to abide by security policies, administrative instructions, plans and procedures of the UN Security Management System and that of UNOPS. Data Architecture Implementation Provide professional implementation of data architecture standards and services including:
Designing solutions and contribute and contribute hands-on to solution development.
Participating in design reviews of solutions with structured and unstructured data covering data integration, data flow, data warehouse, and business intelligence.
Conduct interviews with application stakeholders, facilitate data-modeling sessions, write business and technical requirements, and apply standards and best practices.
Managing business and product owner relationships and enable their understanding and appreciation of technical possibilities and constraints. Developing an enterprise data repository of data management artifacts, assuring their integrity, quality and accuracy. Analysing existing databases and identifying opportunities for data consolidation and design improvement. Taking responsibility for overall integrity, quality, accessibility and accuracy of information across multiple reporting applications.
Implement visualization component and features based on reporting element through the Workspace infrastructure.
Data Architecture Knowledge Sharing
Provide wide sharing of knowledge with the aim of contributing to internal as well as external data initiatives:
Championing efforts in metadata management leading to master data management across the enterprise. Contributing to knowledge on data architecture including services, frameworks, templates, taxonomies, tools, standards, guidelines and best practices both internally as well as externally through the publication of papers and articles on UNOPS web sites as well as on other recognized websites. Contributing to IATI and open data forums with knowledge sharing on optimal data architecture and technologies / implementations most suitable for reporting, data sharing, and linked data frameworks.

Education/Experience/Language requirementsMaster's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar.
Candidates with Bachelor's Degree in related fields may be also considered. Professional certification in SQL Server is desirable.
Minimimum 4 years of experience in the area of database and data warehousing.
Fluency in English is a requirement.
